Twenty things to do in your twenties


excellent wise words from my little sister

1.       Write a song or poem.

2.       Honor your parents more by talking to your parents and grandparents more, find out your family history.

3.       Hold a clothes swap party RECYCLING is worth while

4.       Sing Hanson or Spice Girls at a karaoke bar.

5.       Learn five constellations to point out in the night sky and climb a mountain.

6.       Take more photos –print them out FACEBOOK don’t count

7.      Read books out loud to kids with voices and tell them you are proud of them. Read smart book s to yourself.

8.     Develop a signature dish or treat and make it for the people you work with or someone,e.g. lasagna from scratch.  Learn to make sushi with the rolling mat thing.

9.     Memorize heaps of scripture – recipe for life.
 10.   Learn to play a song on an instrument.

11.   Properly celebrate birthdays your own and others e.g. with presents meaningful card and without complaints of getting old.

12.   Go to an Art Gallery with someone who knows something about it, try to understand without saying, “but I could have done they”

13.   Don’t worry about having your life completely sorted; it’s ok to be immature sometimes.

14.   Aim to worship God in ‘Spirit and in Truth’ living out being free, who cares what you look like.

15.   Ring a friend every week to just chat and catch up.

16.   Give away stuff; give away scary amounts of money. Fight your greed by actively developing your generosity.

17.   Say ‘I Love you’ every time it’s appropriate or even when it’s not for that matter…

18.   Include new people in your life every month; tell the old ones how awesome you think they are, always aim to make others comfortable.

19.   Volunteer to help, you’re doing yourself a favor

20.   Smile frequently so that it’s a habit and you get better wrinkles.

its been sooooo long since i blogged anything!
and now that i am its hard to type . . . its colder than a refrigerator right now!!d


but since finally getting the internet at my new rad pad i'v sort of reached a media over load!!
I NEED WARM SUNSHINE!!


im trying to use colour to remind myself that summer IS coming back . . . eventually . ..

so you're at home & a big kid at heart

sooo make Marshmallow Catapult!




& make playdoh!

2 cups of plain flour
4 tablespoons of 'cream of tartar'
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of boiling water
food colouring

*Just pop it all in a mixing bowl and mix!

there is such a thing as a broken heart

I heard about it here "Quake-victims-suffer-broken-heart-syndrome" while thinking about the perfect last minute Mothers Day recipe - YES! boys & girls it is THIS Sunday!!!
Sooo I'm thinking about our special Mums, about quake victims both here in New Zealand, in Japan & throughout the world - this mothers day needs a bit of care this year


So on a brighter note, here are five ingredients to prevent your mum suffering from Broken Heart Syndrome this mothers day.




1. breakfast in bed - even if you can't make it to mums till noon. how about something fresh bright & vesty?



2. a hand written card shows thought and how well she's raised you.


3. get her "colours" done. honestly it'll be a family investment, in fact get the works and pay for a style consultation too. i recommend the lovely Christine Lemalu from Smitten here in Auckland.


4. an iphone 4 or ipad 2, load it up with apps SHE'LL find useful and teach her how to use it . . . can't afford that? teach her how to skype she'll think its "RADICAL!"

5. make a red cross or save the children donation in your mums name name, at her age she "has everything she needs" and she has given you "everything you have", thank her and tell her all the kids on this planet need a mum like her
